I have assumed the transcription of the grave in the Old Morenci Cemetery for "Donald" is actually "Daniel" as this date matches precisely the date of birth for Daniel Ortt, son of Christian and Magdalene.^6,7,8,3 He was buried after 15 February 1868 at Old Morenci Cemetery, Seneca Township, Lenawee, Michigan, USA.³

Also, no entry for Thomas and Mary Ann Knight is found in the 1860 census, so this would also support the fact that the family was in Canada for a short time.
