I have Mary Magdalin married to Christian Ortt, s/o Johannes and Maria Rosina Fisher Ortt and Mary Magdalin's father as John Schuler. I was given this information by another Ortt reseacher so I'm not sure of the source. My line is through Johannes' brother, Johan Henrich Orth/Ort who married an Anna Catherina LNU. Their 1st son was John who was born in Lehigh Co. around 1768. He was sponsored by Anna Margaret Schuler. I'm not sure if this is her maiden or married name. Johan Henrich and Anna Catherina's 2nd son was named Abraham. In keeping with the naming tradition, this should be Anna Catherina's father's name. So on a hunch I'm looking for an Abraham Schuler as possibly the father of my Anna Catherina. Do you have any information on Abraham's other children? or the name of his wife?

Hans Ort1

M, d. circa 1792
Hans Ort was born at Germany. He married Sabina (?)1 Hans Ort died circa 1792 at Upper Milford Township, Northamptonshire, Pennsylvania, USA.1
Hans Ort was also known as Johannes Orde. Hans Ort was also known as Hans Oord.2 He emigrated on 28 July 1709 from Germany; went to London in the 6th Party from Rotterdam. This party disembarked in Rotterdam on a total of five ships and sailed for London with a total party of 1,443 passengers between the five ships of "poor Palatines."

If this is the same Hans Ort who settled in PA, dates alone would prove that the wife who traveled with him in 1709 was not the Sabina who was the mother of the children b. between the years of 1749 and 1753. However, since 20 years elapsed between this emigration and the Immigration to PA, is is also possible that it might be Hans, a son of the original emigrant who came to the US.

Also listed in this same emigration in 1709 is a Johan Adam Order, wife and 3 children. One published account of a land purchase in 1738 in PA has given a former name of Hans Ort as Hans Oord or John Ord, so it is possible that these people were two different individuals who arrived in the US at similar times.3,4 He immigrated on 19 August 1729 to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA; possibly emigrated from the Palatinate by ship "Mortenhouse" from
Rotterdam and Clowes in 1729. Listed as Johannes Orde. Arrived in
Philadelphia, PA on Aug. 19, 1729 (Emmaus Public Library).1 He purchased land on 11 September 1738 at Northamptonshire, Pennsylvania, USA.5
