    Born in Auburn, Ted grew up on Fitch Avenue. After getting married to Pauline, his wife of 58 years, they moved to Highland Street where they raised their four children. Ted and Pauline then moved to Port Byron where they met many friends and enjoyed the camaraderie of those at the Port Byron diner. Ted enjoyed bowling and was involved in many leagues over the years. Most recently he bowled at Rainbow Lanes where he carried a 175 average. Ted enjoyed being outdoors, spending time working in his yard, bird and wildlife watching, and loved his children, grandchildren, and great-granddaughters. In his early years, Ted worked for Wally Slayton Construction and JJ Harrington/Auburn Sand & Stone. Ted retired from the City of Auburn Street Department in 2001.

    Ted was predeceased by his parents, L. Stuart Shaw and Ruth Stanton; two sisters and their husbands, Phyllis “Susie” and George Phillips, and Jean and Frank Mester.

    Ted is survived by his wife, Pauline (Kromer) Shaw; one daughter and three sons, Candace (Richard) Searing, of Skaneateles, N.Y., Bernard “Bernie” Shaw (Sandra Jones), of Aurora, N.Y., John Shaw (Susan Farrington), of Cayuga, N.Y., and David (Chrissy Balk), of Auburn; 19 grandchildren, Brett (Casey) Searing, of Savannah, Ga., Sarah (Andrew) Wood, of Stamford, Conn., Stephanie (Jason Ferrante) Searing, of Burlingame, Calif., Alexsandra (Dan) Sullivan, of Auburn, Richard “Richie,” Bryan, Kathryn “Katie,” Victoria, Michael, Jenna, Daniel, Julia, Mary, Lauren, John “Johnny,” Andrew, Hannah, Kendall, and Spencer Shaw; three great-granddaughters, Maddison and Finley Searing, and Amelia Sullivan; his two brothers, Stuart “Buster” Shaw, of Auburn, and Donald Shaw, of Watkinsville, Ga.; his sister, Marilyn Bisgrove, of Auburn; his brother-in-law, David Kromer, of Auburn; several nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends, including lifelong friend, Dick (Peggy) Quill.

    AURORA - Bernard "Teddy" T. Shaw, Jr., 60, of Aurora, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, March 27, 2023, surrounded by his loving family after a long, courageous battle with cancer.

    He was born in Auburn, NY, on May 3, 1962, the second of four children to Bernard and Pauline Shaw. Bernard was a graduate of Auburn High School's Class of 1980. He attended Oswego State University, where he played lacrosse.

    In 1987, he married the love of his life, Sandra Shaw (Jones). Together, they raised ten loving and beautiful children: Richard (Sarah), Alexsandra (Dan) Sullivan, Bryan (Rebecca), Kathryn, the future Victoria (Jay) Wilkes, Michael, Jenna, Daniel, Julia, and Mary. In addition, Bernard was blessed with six grandchildren: Amelia, Theodore "Teddy", Avery, Viola, Declan, and one expected grandchild, whom he loved dearly.

    In 1988, Bernard entered the Iron Workers Union Local #60, of which he was a lifelong member. In 1996, he was employed by Titchener Iron Works, where he spent 27 years as an IronWorker Foreman, working alongside his dear friend Doug Wilcox before retiring in 2020.

    In his free time, Bernard could be seen riding his tractor around the yard with a grandchild on his lap. He enjoyed playing various sports with his kids and spent his evenings rooting for Syracuse Basketball. He loved to tell stories of his adventures with siblings, childhood friends, and his ride along with Officer Bufano.

    Bernard adored the time he spent with his second family, Ronald and Cynthia (Lavey) Jones of Aurora, and all their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Most of all, he loved spending time with his wife and watching their children grow and succeed in various aspects of life.

    In 2016, Bernard was predeceased by his father, Bernard T. Shaw, Sr., of Auburn.

    He is survived by his mother, Pauline Shaw (Kromer) of Auburn; and his three siblings: Candace (Richard) Searing of Skaneateles, John (Susan) Shaw of Aurelius, David (Christia) Shaw of Sennett; and a plethora of nieces and nephews, with whom he enjoyed spending time.

    Calling hours will be Friday, March 31, 2023, from 4:00-7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, April 1, 2023, at 10:00 a.m., both at St. Mary's Church in Auburn. Interment will be private at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Aurora following the services. Arrangements by the B.L. Bush & Sons Funeral Home, Camillus.

    The family would like to thank HOA of CNY and Hospice of the Finger Lakes for their wonderful care and support.

Born in Moravia, he was the son of the late Claude and Rose Smith Phillips. George was a World War II Marine veteran and a Purple Heart recipient, who proudly served his country while stationed in the Pacific. He was a self- employed carpenter, retiring at the age of 65. He was an avid reader and enjoyed the company of his family.

    He is survived by his brother, John Phillips, of Conquest; his caregivers, Pauline and Ted Shaw and their family; a special niece, Kim Phillips, and by several other nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, George was predeceased by his wife, Phyllis “Susie” Phillips; brothers, Eugene and Ronald Phillips, and by a sister, Bessie Rooker.

    Friends may visit the family from 9 to 10 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 17 at Langham Funeral Home, 75 E. Genesee St., Auburn, followed by a funeral at 10 a.m. Burial with military honors will be in Soule Cemetery, Sennett.
