    Mr. Houston was past chief of the Caledonian Club of Paterson and was a member of the Masonic Highlanders, the Passaic County Republican League and the lIncoln Republican club.
    Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Mary Hayes Houston, a daughter, Mrs. Charles (Margaret) Decker of New York; three sones, James of Newton, Thomas of Norh Haledon, and Robert of Totawa' and seven grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Saturday.
