She was a lifelong member of St. Alphonsus Church, a member of the Altar and Rosary Society at St. Alphonsus, a member of the Melrose Senior Citizens, Knights of St. John Auxiliary, the Christian Mothers Club and a former Girl Scout leader. Ellen was predeceased by her husband, Richard "Dick" Evans in 1982. Surviving are their children, Kathleen and husband, Thomas Gray, of Auburn, Margaret Mary Evans, of Auburn, Frederick and wife, Laurie Evans, of Auburn, Timothy R. Evans, of Richmond, Va., and Mary Beth Page, of Auburn; grandchildren, Gretchen and Jeffrey Gray, Lauren and fiance, Adam Collister, Daniel and Michael Evans, Mary Katherine and Kerry Anne Evans, Jene and William Page; special cousins, Alice Foster and family, Elaine Murray, of Pittsburgh, Pa., and Marjorie Cater, of Colorado; brother-in-law, John Baker, of Skaneateles; many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her parents; brother, Raynold and wife, Mary Shaw; and sister, Alice Shaw. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 3 in St. Alphonsus Church with the Rev. Louis Vasile, pastor, as celebrant. Interment will be in St. Joseph"s Cemetery. Calling hours will be 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Farrell"s Funeral Service, Inc., 84 South St., Auburn. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 6390 Fly Road West, Syracuse, NY 13057 or the Mercy Rehabilitation Center, Adult Day Care Service, 3 St. Anthony St., Auburn, NY 13021.
