William Nolan

M, b. circa 1839, d. 26 February 1914
William Nolan was born in 1835 at Ireland.1 He was born circa 1839 at Ireland.2 He married Bridget Lambert, daughter of William Lambert and Maria Dunsey, circa 1861.2 William Nolan died on 26 February 1914 at Auburn, Cayuga, New York, USA,3he was buried on 28 February 1914 at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Fleming, Cayuga, New York, USA.4
William Nolan married Bridget Lambert. There is no marriage record in the Castledermot Registers for William and Bridget and I am relatively confident that neither of them is from the Castledermot area. Since Bridget Lambert and her sister Maria Lambert give their address as Woodlands, then I believe that they came to work in Browne's of Woodlands who were big farmers at that time. In the electoral register for the parish of Castledermot of 1893, William Nolan is listed as living in a labourer's cottage in Knocknagee.
Bridget Lambert was the daughter of William Lambert and Maria Dunsey and sister of Maria Lambert who married 28/9/1869 Edward Corrigan b. 1843 son of Denis Corrigan and Mary Power, Ballyvass. Edward and Maria who lived in Castledermot had one son Denis b. 1871. Denis Corrigan, who lived in Castledermot married 16/2/1897 Elizabeth Doran, Carlow Gate b. 1873 daughter of Patrick Doran and Julia Lynch, Castledermot and had family - many of whose descendents live in the locality.5
He immigrated in 1887.2,1
