It is not known who this person is. There was no record in the family of old 1804 Sylvanus getting married a fourth time. This marriage took place when Sylvanus was living on his farm in Crawford County at Marion's old place on the hill. Dad heared the following story : Sylvanus was not married but got a Swedish girl to come in and be his housekeeper. One morning he came in and sat his slop bucked on the kitchen table for her to dump and clean. This made the girl mad so she hit Sylvanus over the head with an iron skillet. The family used to laugh about this story. 1855 Sylvanus came to live with 1804 Sylvanus about 1875. My father, however, does not recall his grandfather ever mentioning Sylvanus was married or living with anyone. Could this be a different Sylvanus? Sylvanus would have been 66 years old at the time.
