     Mr. Vose was a yeoman. He died nearly two years before his father, and his widow was appointed administratrix of his estate and guardian of his six minor children. He lived on the old Vose homestead and his heirs were bequeathed, by his father, the western end of the house, barn, and garden and about forty acres of pasture, woodland, meadow, and salt-marsh. His widow's dower was six acres of meadow and six acres of salt-marsh. His administratrix sold a portion of the real estate to adjust his affairs and after her death the sons, Oliver and Nathaniel, purchased all the rights of their brothers and sisters in what was remaining of the land given them by their grandfather.¹

     He began military service at Revolutionary War. Lemuel Gay belonged to a family of patriots, as he and his three brothers gave valuable service. he was a private at Dorchester Heights, in apt. Simeon Leach's company, and marched as lieutenant to the relief of Rhode Island. He died in 1809 at Stoughton, where he was born in 1745 (DAR Register) Svd Rev. W. Lt. from Mass.²

     Abigail Davenport was born on 16 August 1749 at Milton, Norfolk, Massachusetts, USA.^1,2,3 She was the daughter of Samuel Davenport and Sarah (?) Abigail Davenport married Leiut.
