Nathaniel Vose married Rachel Bent, daughter of Joseph Bent and Rachel Fuller. Mr. Vose was a yeoman. He died nearly two years before his father, and his widow was appointed administratrix of his estate and guardian of his six minor children. He lived on the old Vose homestead and his heirs were bequeathed, by his father, the western end of the house, barn, and garden and about forty acres of pasture, woodland, meadow, and salt-marsh. His widow's dower was six acres of meadow and six acres of salt-marsh. His administratrix sold a portion of the real estate to adjust his affairs and after her death the sons, Oliver and Nathaniel, purchased all the rights of their brothers and sisters in what was remaining of the land given them by their grandfather.1
