He was the chief operating officer for Desmond Woolen Mills before retiring. He was a Navy veteran, a member of the Smithfield Elks Lodge #2359 and the Smithfield Senior Center where he volunteered his services. He also volunteered and enjoyed delivering Meals on Wheels. His hobbies include saltwater fishing, antique car shows and winters in Cocoa Beach, Fla. He is survived by three children, a daughter, Mindy Hart and husband James, of Smithfield, two sons, David J. Day and wife Marina, of Racine, Wis., and Jeffrey W. Day, of North Smithfield; five grandchildren, Samuel, Jacob and Riley Hart, Devon and Delaney Day; two sisters, Barbara Polcovich and husband Bill, Judy Nunnari and husband Anthony; a brother Ronald Noga and wife Mary, all of Auburn. He was the brother of the late Patricia Glancy and her husband Robert. There will be a Mass of Christian burial at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday in St. Philip Church, 622 Putnam Pike, Greenville.
