Paul proudly served his country in the Army during the Korean Conflict and was a recipient of the Purple Heart. He was a communicant of St. Alphonsus Church. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Marilyn Shaw Bisgrove; a son, David S. Bisgrove and his wife, Allison, of Michigan; a daughter, Debra A. Townsend, of Auburn; four grandchildren, Angela Simmons, Christina Smith, Kelly Townsend and Haley Wakeham; and by two great-grandchildren, Dominick Paul Smith and Marley Marie Simmons. He served as a sergeant with Patton's 5th Division in Africa and Italy. He had previously been the batch plant manager with JJ Harington of Auburn, and had worked at Goulds Pumps of Seneca Falls. Frank was a member of VFW Post 1975, Cayuga Post 1259 of the American Legion, where he had twice served as Post Commander, and a member of Voiture local 1064 of the 40/8, where he had served as past Chef'de Gares. Surviving is Frank's daughter, Susan Jacobus and her husband, Steven, of Elmira; grandchildren, Jeffrey Jacobus and Jennifer Jacobus, of Florida; great-grandchildren, Brandi Washington and Hayleigh Clark; and a great-great-granddaughter, Alexus; a niece, Anne Mester, of California; and a nephew, Steve Mester, of Michigan. Mr. Mester was predeceased by his wife, Jean Shaw Mester in 1973; and a brother, Michael Mester. Graveside services will be held 1:30 p.m. Friday, in St. Joseph's Mausoleum, Fleming.     Born in Auburn, Ted grew up on Fitch Avenue. After getting married to Pauline, his wife of 58 years, they moved to Highland Street where they raised their four children. Ted and Pauline then moved to Port Byron where they met many friends and enjoyed the camaraderie of those at the Port Byron diner. Ted enjoyed bowling and was involved in many leagues over the years. Most recently he bowled at Rainbow Lanes where he carried a 175 average. Ted enjoyed being outdoors, spending time working in his yard, bird and wildlife watching, and loved his children, grandchildren, and great-granddaughters. In his early years, Ted worked for Wally Slayton Construction and JJ Harrington/Auburn Sand & Stone. Ted retired from the City of Auburn Street Department in 2001.

    Ted was predeceased by his parents, L. Stuart Shaw and Ruth Stanton; two sisters and their husbands, Phyllis “Susie” and George Phillips, and Jean and Frank Mester.

    Ted is survived by his wife, Pauline (Kromer) Shaw; one daughter and three sons, Candace (Richard) Searing, of Skaneateles, N.Y., Bernard “Bernie” Shaw (Sandra Jones), of Aurora, N.Y., John Shaw (Susan Farrington), of Cayuga, N.Y., and David (Chrissy Balk), of Auburn; 19 grandchildren, Brett (Casey) Searing, of Savannah, Ga., Sarah (Andrew) Wood, of Stamford, Conn., Stephanie (Jason Ferrante) Searing, of Burlingame, Calif., Alexsandra (Dan) Sullivan, of Auburn, Richard “Richie,” Bryan, Kathryn “Katie,” Victoria, Michael, Jenna, Daniel, Julia, Mary, Lauren, John “Johnny,” Andrew, Hannah, Kendall, and Spencer Shaw; three great-granddaughters, Maddison and Finley Searing, and Amelia Sullivan; his two brothers, Stuart “Buster” Shaw, of Auburn, and Donald Shaw, of Watkinsville, Ga.; his sister, Marilyn Bisgrove, of Auburn; his brother-in-law, David Kromer, of Auburn; several nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends, including lifelong friend, Dick (Peggy) Quill.
