The story Stuart told was that his mother and father and he went to New Jersey with Uncle Tom and wife, Anna, to attend their dear mother's funeral. Uncle Tom was heard to say over his mother's coffin something to the affect that he would be joining her soon. On the way back from New Jersey in Uncle Tom's car they ran into a terrible snow storm with blinding snow. In order to see, Uncle Tom rode with the window open therefore when he got home he was very ill and died soon after. He was asthmatic. and the ride home took its tole. Tom and Jim were very close.
