Josiah S. Johnson
M, b. 26 November 1806, d. 4 December 1852
Josiah S. Johnson was born on 26 November 1806 at Henniker, New Hampshire, USA.1,2 He was the son of Solomon Johnson and Azubah Witherbee. Josiah S. He There are obviously two Josiah Johnsons who lived in Merrimack County simultaneously. I do not have a citation for the birthdate of 1791, but the Josiah who lived in Wilmot has an entry in the IGI that excludes him as a son of Solomon: "Josiah Johnson Birth: 11 JAN 1790 Plaistow, Rockingham, New Hampshire Death: 12 JUN 1859 Wilmont,Merack, , New Hampshire Father: Isaiah Johnson Spouse: Ruth Hazard Marriage: 15 MAR 1813 Springfield, Sullivan, New Hampshire"
The IGI date and entry in the Howe Genealogy of 1806 and marriage to Mary Oakes Howe are therefore given as the primary data for this Josiah.

William Decker
M
William Decker married Hannah Barber.
William Decker appeared on the census of 1 June 1840 at Galen, Wayne, New York, USA; The names of William and Hannah Barber Decker as parents of Aaron and Samuel are found only on Aaron's death certificate. No households in the 1840 censuses with a William as the head have children the correct age to be Aaron and Samuel, but several possiblilities exist. They are:
John Decker: Males:
2 <5
2 5-10
1 30-40
Females:
1 10-15
1 30-40
This household looks the most promising for containing ancestors of Aaron and Samuel. Perhaps the John listed as head of household could be the parent and the death certificate has erroneous information. A marriage record exists for John Decker to Hannah Lake in 1827 at the Dutch Reformed Church. No marriage record for a William is found, and the two boys in this household are very young, and match the ages of Aaron and Samuel. Sam was living with Anna Lake in 1850, so there is another connection to this couple.
On either side of John Decker lives a Jacob Leak, sic., and an Aaron Hopkins. On the same page are Sally Hopkins.
Also on the same page is:
Isaac Decker: Males:
1 <5
1 5-10
1 10-15
Females:
1 30-40.1 He appeared on the census of 6 September 1850 at Household 1308-1399, Town of Junius, Seneca, New York, USA; Wm. Decker, 29, Farmer, NY
Margaret, 25,
Wm. C., 3
Charles, 1
This Wm. would have been 16 at the time of Aaron's birth. This Wm. lives only 5 houses from the home of Joel Cosard, with whom Aaron was enumerated in 1850.2 He appeared on the census of 5 October 1850 at Household 174-174, Town of Galen, Wayne, New York, USA; Wm Decker, 33
Julia, 25
Catherine, 3
Wm. E., 1
Ages possibly suggest Julia may be a second wife. Aaron was 13 in 1850, so this Wm. would have been 20 at the time of Aaron's birth and could be his father.3

Lucy Ann Smith
F, b. 24 February 1819, d. 8 October 1865
Lucy Ann Smith was born on 24 February 1819 at Cayuga, New York, USA.1,2 She was the daughter of Israel Smith and Lucy Granger. Lucy Ann Smith married Henry Bonker, son of Oliver Bonker and Hannah Unknown, on 12 January 1836.1 Lucy Ann Smith died on 8 October 1865 at Michigan, USA, at age 46 Obituary for Henry in 1880 reads: "Some 10 years ago he moved to Michigan. Mrs. Bonker died there soonafter." Lucy's gravestone in Lakeview Cemetery, Cayuga reads 1865. In 1860 census Henry is residing in Montezuma, but by 1870 he apparently widowed and living in Ledyard with Samuel. By 1875 they are all back in in Montezuma living with Samuel. Lucy may have died in Montezuma but the fact that the family is not found in the 1865 New York State Census, may support the Michigan location mentioned in Henry's obituary.1,3,4 She was buried at Lakeview Cemetery, Cayuga, Cayuga, New York, USA.
